Health and Wellness
Hope For Tomorrow endeavors to improve the living standard of African Immigrants by facilitating access to health care and referral services to health facilities in Washington DC, USA. The organization also ensures amicable assistance and general wellness for African immigrants by facilitating documentation for immigration services through language translation services, general literacy and humanitarian support services. Hope For Tomorrow also in collaboration with other organizations working as a Network For African Health and Wellness (NAHW) and the District of Columbia Department of Health HIV/AIDS Administration are working in partnership to see that all communities are reached through advocacy and outreach programs to reduce, prevent and protect themselves from HIV/AIDS. This collaborative network supports African immigrants on referral services for seeking health-care, food and other humanitarian needs.
The organization in collaboration with US Department of Health facilitates health training programmes aimed at enhancing knowledge and practices on health care service delivery to people living with HIV/AIDS and other ailments among African immigrants.
Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) care and support
HFT empowers and supports the immigrants’ orphans and vulnerable children to get quality education for the purpose of improving their academic performance level. Therefore HFT will facilitate provision of a bursary fund to assist the needy students from the region who perform well academically, but unable to proceed with education due to lack of school fees. The OVC caretakers/guardians will be supported through microfinance to run an income generating projects that will help them to sustain OVC s’ needs for education material and equipment, health care, nutrition and food security. The program will later be extended to developing countries starting with Kenya to assist orphans and vulnerable children that resulted from post election violence and HIV/AIDS scourge to basic needs.
Hope For Tomorrow in collaboration with other organizations working as a Network For African Health and Wellness (NAHW) and the District of Columbia Department of Health HIV/AIDS Administration are working in partnership to see that all communities are reached through advocacy and outreach programs to reduce, prevent and protect themselves from HIV/AIDS. The identified African immigrants will also get referral services to where they can seek healthcare, food and other humanitarian support. The organization further facilitate provision of HIV/AIDS education on prevention and awareness among the immigrants through Language translation of various HIV/AIDS print and audio-visual media from English to Kiswahili, French and other languages for maximum outreach and awareness purposes.
The organization in collaborates with US Department of Health ensures capacity building training programmes aimed at enhancing knowledge and skill on health care service delivery to people living with HIV/AIDS.
Micro-finance

The organization empowers women, disabled and youth through establishment of micro-finance community banks which offer affordable interest rates and enable the community members participate in revolving fund for micro-enterprises. This Enhances their socio-economic standing and offer them an opportunity for a better life. This will help them to rebuild the local economy especially in disaster prone areas. The revolving fund will also support marginalized groups in post conflict societies to operate viable micro-enterprises, thereby facilitating sustainable economic growth. Hope For Tomorrow endeavors to implement capacity building through training and entrepreneurship.
Youth and Reproductive Health Rights (YRHR)
The organization conducts training on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights and Policies issues to the communities with a view to eradicate sexual offences or sex trafficking / abuse. The organization in collaboration with stakeholders will develop a training curriculum to advocate for sex trafficking / abuse including the legal references and penalties to be met in case of impeachment. This shall be enhanced through public awareness and provision of IEC materials to the communities.
Sustainable Agriculture
The organization encourages affordable food and cash crop production to reduce the food scarcity in the marginal areas through use of appropriate farming technologies. HFT also makes every effort to educate and train small and medium farmers on marketing of their produce and the fair trade policies.
Health - HIV/AIDS intervention
The organization in collaborates with other stakeholders conduct training programmes aimed at enhancing and advancing the knowledge and skill on health care service delivery to people living with HIV/AIDS in the project areas. The organization works with the Department of Health in the establishment of sustainable comprehensive reproductive health training and services to marginalized or underserved areas. HFT provides desirable monitoring mechanism to all the service providers trained in: Information Technology, paralegal and health. These include Home and community-based health workers, Data Managers, Counselors, medical practitioners and doctors in both public and private sectors.
The organization also plan to establishes community clinic and pharmacy to facilitate primary health care, which is widely regarded as the tragedy for the future health care service delivery in Kenya, Africa and other countries. HFT has very experienced and specialized personnel and it is in a unique position on to offer quality technical support in the development of Primary Health Care programmes particularly in the following areas: Health Programmes Management and Evaluation,Training of Home and Community Based Care, Primary Health Care and Environmental Health Management. The organization ensures proper VCT and referral services of people living with HIV/AIDS for quality health care management.
Solar Energy:
HFT facilitate green energy solution by encouraging the use of solar energy and its accessories like heater and solar ovens at home and also in schools which is economical and sustainable to the environment.
Water and sanitation:
Promoting use of safe water to communities to avoid water borne related illness. Most water sources in Africa are from rivers, lake and boreholes. The water can either be contaminated from the source or with transporting containers used for fetching. We therefore provide capacity building training on affordable water treatment to eliminate disease causing organism like cholera, typhoid etc. We also advocate for proper environmental sanitation practices to avoid water, air and soil pollution.
Humanitarian and Disaster Relief support:

HFT ensures emergency life skills education for disaster preparedness especially to areas prone to natural catastrophe like earthquake that happened in Haiti in January 2010. The organization facilitates food banking program and basic material support to the immigrants and/or displaced victims. HFT also enhances affordable immigration services awareness by facilitating language translation and general literacy on Immigration documentations for African immigrants. In addition, the organization enhances advocacy outreaches to detention centers to provide affordable legal representation and language translation assistance to immigrants (detainees / inmates) to facilitate back-logged cases for appropriate actions.
Democratic Governance:
HFT promotes democratic governance through capacity building on leadership and management training skills. The organization also promote peace, stability and governance through provision of civic education outreaches and facilitate online voting technology to communities to avoid violence and crime related to electoral malpractices.
